Welcome to my Website!

*This website hosts the culmination of all of the projects that I have completed as a graduate student at North Carolina State University.

*Please click on the journey tab to view both of the videos that represent my journey in the NLGL program.  The first video explains why I wanted to come to NCSU.  The second video shows what I have learned and a bit of how my teaching has evolved.

The first few lines of this song by Brandon Heath really embody the emotion that is evoked when I think of the transformitive journey that I have taken during the past two years here at NCSU.  I am not who I was.  I am not at 100 % with technology integration but, I feel that I have come so far from the chalkboard that my teaching is nothing like it use to be even a short time ago.

  • God brought me through it all!  I spent a lot of time praying about speeding tickets and parking tickets over the past two years.  Thank you Lord for sparing me from both!  Thank you for the sweet girl at the parking booth that always let me park 30 minutes early!

  • To my professors: Thank you for creating assignments that produced thought provoking concepts, inspired us, and helped us to grow onto the path of greatness.  The amount of information that I have learned is truly transformative.  I will not waste my knowledge but, instead I will use what I have learned to slowly fade into someone that is not who I was. I will always strive to know more, try more, do more, and be more.  I have been in school for twenty years and I can honestly say that the professors at North Carolina State University that teach in the NLGL program are the BEST of the BEST.  Thank you for always being understanding and kind.

  • To Mrs. Bryant: Thank you for teaching my students from 2:30-3:00 two days a week.  You are truly a blessing.  You never complained or made me feel bad about having to go and I appreciate that more than you'll ever know.  Many people do things so that later on they can tell everyone about it and gossip.  You do things for others because you are kind.  You could have had my students sit silently with worksheets but you chose to do more, consistently going above and beyond what anyone else in your shoes would have done.  It is evident that you care about students!  THANK YOU!

  • To my family: Thank you so much for supporting me!  I appreciate all of those times you guys (gripingly) agreed to leave the house so that I could "meet" virtually with professors and collegues.  You listened to my trials and triumphs.  For all you have done for me and continue to do THANK YOU!  I love y'all so much! ~Amanda
